The Webportal of FKKTLib the compounds' library of Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology at University of Ljubljana.
The FKKTLib Compound Library currently contains 3,428 unique synthesised compounds that are the result of many years of research in numerous projects at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology at the University of Ljubljana. The majority of the compounds collected in the library are heterocyclic compounds documented in the scientific literature. Most of the samples of the compounds in the library are in solid form and are stored in cryogenic vials, which are marked with a QR code that allows us to trace the samples. To ensure the stability of the samples, they are stored under argon in the freezer at -25°C.
Information about the compounds in the library is stored in a web-based, fully retrievable molecular structure database based on the open-source solution MolDB6, developed by Prof. Norbert Haider of the University of Vienna. The system uses MySQL as database engine, and the molecular structures with their corresponding data are stored in MySQL tables. The check/matchmol programme is used for structure/substructure search, which is performed in a two-step procedure: Pre-selection by fingerprint matching, followed by a full atom-by-atom comparison of the remaining candidates. Structures and data can be added via the web interface or by importing from a MDL SD file using a Perl script on the server.
